Waeber HMS is an independent, family-owned company based in Val-de-Travers, Switzerland, that specializes in the manufacture of high-quality watch hands for the luxury watch industry.

The company’s goal has always been to deploy human labor where it creates the greatest added value, such as in quality control. Repetitive, monotonous, and continuous production tasks, on the other hand, should be handled by robots or automation systems. Therefore, the company was looking for a solution for automated machine loading during the evening and night hours.

With the humanoid robot NEXTAGE^® A flexible automation concept was implemented that includes the loading and unloading of machines, QR code scanning, and the operation of machine doors.

This allows production to run autonomously for longer periods of time, while employees focus on value-added activities such as quality control and finishing.
